I am a queer non binary witch currently living on the ancestral homelands of the Piscataway Conoy and Nacotchtank people, also known as Silver Spring, MD. I came to Reclaiming in 2016 when I attended Spiralheart Witchcamp. Since then I have stepped in out of service through organizing, ritual planning, and teaching for both Spiralheart and locally with Baltimore Reclaiming. I am an animist and much of my magic is centered around the body-mind, relationship to the land, song and sound, presence, and the power of a cackle.
Heidi Marian is a climate nerd and queer witchy mama raising her wild child (who is also attending camp) in San Francisco. She has spent many years in Reclaiming community and has taught core classes and camps before taking a break from teaching. She is a Reclaiming and Feri initiate and loves to weave collaborative magic. She is excited to co-teach the youth path! Working magic with young people is the absolute best. Children are essential members of our community and their magical ways are a joy to witness.
Jason Scarecrow (he / it) currently lives in California, but spent the first 34 years of his life in the Midwest, where he learned to love the outdoors in all seasons. He has been teaching kids, teens, and young adults within the Reclaiming Tradition for over 15 years, and has been a parent for about thirty years. Raising a neurodiverse and gender expansive brood has helped him develop a depth of lived experience and wide-ranging context for many of life’s mysteries. His youngest daughter, Brie, will be at camp this year and was the inspiration for him working with the kids at Winter Witchcamp. Outside of all that, Scarecrow likes to climb really, really tall mountains and running long, long, long distances; finding deep magick in the cold, in physical play, and adventure.
Maren/Wand has been making community-driven, celebratory, absurd, chaotic, spectacle, theater magic in Mni Sota Makoce since the early 1990’s. She brings an eclectic bag of magical tools gathered through decades as a performer/director/ritualist/theater maker in a variety of contexts: as a core artist at the wildly imaginative one-of-a-kind Bedlam Theater; as an ensemble member of the radical queer acapella ritual sex magick performing ensemble: The Psycick Slutz; as co- facilitator and performer with South Mpls puppet magicians on the BareBones Halloween Show; many years as “Sun Flotilla Coordinator” bringing the sun across the water for the annual Mayday Parade and Ceremony; Seasonal celebration organizing with Tere Parsley Starnes, Paul Eaves and Cara Carlson at Tree and the Well and Anam Cara, and years as an attendee and kitchen witch at Winter Witch Camp.
Since 2004, Wand has directed the zAmya Theater Project, which uses the powerful combination of lived experience and artistic expression to create performance that motivates our communities to work for housing justice for all. She has studied Theater of the Oppressed and Community/Civic Engaged Theater with Augusto and Julian Boal, Adrian Jackson, Sonja Kuftinec, Chen Alon, Los Angeles Poverty Department, Cornerstone Theater and Michael Rohd. Recently she attended a deeply inspiring Pochinko Clown Intensive with Donna Oblongata. She loves collaborative creation and co- leadership with the ungovernable.
Rae Eden (she/they) discovered her love for the Reclaiming tradition and witchcamps at the first Winter Witchcamp in 2003. Rae has since experienced witchcamps as a camper, organizer, and teacher. Her practice embodies a blend of Reclaiming, Feri, eclectic, animist, and green witchery. Rae’s spirituality weaves together her experiences as a person in long-term recovery with her Unitarian Universalist upbringing, Jewish heritage, and study of meditation and mindfulness.
Rae embraces dance and movement as sacred tools for blessing, expression, and resistance. Rae is devoted to creating beauty in all the senses through altars and rituals. Rae honors the traditional homelands of the Dakota and Anishinaabe in the Upper Mississippi River Valley, where she resides, by tending to the living landscape around her—rewilding her surroundings through growing food forests and native gardens that offer nourishment and sanctuary to birds, bees, and the wider web of life.
Riyana (Continuity Teacher) is a plantwitch, writer, and deep lover of the earth and all of her children– her world revolves around a constellation of mystical magic making, gardening, motherhood, writing, and finding ways to deepen into living authentically with the seasons and the cycles of the earth She has been working with Reclaiming for over twenty years, and finds herself drawn again and again to magic that focuses on devotional, experiential, direct connection to the divine– such as aspecting, oracle work, sacred sound, and embodiment.
During the day, Riyana works as an herbalist and writer. She teaches both internationally and in her local community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her heart belongs to the redwoods, the oaks, elder and hawthorn, her daughter Brighid (aka Brie), her partner Jason Scarecrow, and the sea.
Silen Silvertongue (they/he) is a sculptor of sound, artist of people, storyteller, genderqueer shapeshifter, Wildwood witch, mercurial name collector, and lover, among other things. Silen has been practicing in the Reclaiming Tradition since 2015, and has been remembering witchcraft their entire life. Silen practices witchcraft to deepen communion with Mystery to to show up and be fully present in the world. For Silen, the heartbeat of Reclaiming witchcraft is community and they love the mess, beauty, and challenge of community, whether they’re weaving magic with their friends in so-called Colorado, or globally through their connections with Reclaiming witches around the world. In addition to witchcraft, Silen is a composer, poet, writer, performance artist, and mentor. Silen lives on the unceded lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, Arapaho and many other Indigenous peoples who gather in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in what is otherwise known as Fort Collins, Colorado. Yule Danu Oyagbemi (She/Her) Continuity Teacher
I am a Mexican American Indian (Aztec, Apache, Cherokee) and Irish animist witch, priestess, and healer. I honor the Patwin Band of the Wintun peoples and give thanks for their sacred circles.
I have walked the Craft for over 30 years and am initiated in Reclaiming, Feri Witchcraft, and Ifá. My practice is rooted in relationship with ancestors, allies, spirits, the living land, and the Divine. I weave science and magick together as paths of transformation, healing, intuition, and sacred knowing.
I offer spaces for deeper relationship with spirit and for embracing our own magic as we move courageously through transformation. My sacred fires are community, healing, ritual, priestessing, underworld journeying, death care, home funerals, and rites of passage.
Walken Schweigert (the Bard of the Night) (Music Resource) is a queer/transgender actor, musician, composer and director from St. Paul, MN. A 2019 Jerome Foundation Fellow, he graduated from the Dell’ Arte International School for Physical Theatre in 2009 and was mentored from 2012-2017 by Stacy Klein and Carlos Uriona of the internationally renowned Double Edge Theatre in Ashfield, MA. He is the Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Open Flame Theatre, which produced his newest opera, The Garden (originally commissioned by the American Composers Forum), at The Southern Theater in Minneapolis May, 2023. Walken’s work has been performed across the country, including an original operetta that was commissioned by the Washington National Opera and premiered at the Kennedy Center in January, 2023. In addition to being a freelance performer, director, and composer, he is also a member of the Occult-inspired, baroque-horror, Detroit-based band CRUNE, and a collective and board member of Philadelphia Community Farm in Osceola, WI. He trained to be an Alexander Technique teacher at Soma Studios in Minneapolis MN and is also enrolled at United Theological Seminary, studying Spiritual Direction, Paganism, Theology in the Arts and Queer and Trans Theologies.
